More than ever, there is a big population of people who are not into good movement habits, which propel being sedentary and sick in their bodies due to lack of movement. In many cases this is because of the mindset that movement and exercising is tedious and difficult to integrate in regular routine and life.
Intuitive movement is when you innately know you need to exercise not just because it has physical health benefits but also it has mental health benefits.
It is said that it takes 21 days to 60 days to make a habit your second nature. But for a habit to stick to your routine, you need to start somewhere . It has to be something that benefits your emotional as well as physical body.
Habits can revolve around your favorite things to do that get the body moving. Swimming, going for a walk, doing floor exercises, doing deep breathing exercises and grounding yourself with yoga can help too. Other variety of activities are when you can go for cycling or paddleboarding or playing tennis/squash or paddleball or pickleball, you can also choose badminton as a recreational activity or going for a run or just playing cricket.
Any personal favorite form of movement can help in getting your physical health benefits going. But the catch here is that you have to do it enough so it is a part of daily routine and without which your body would otherwise be stagnant.
Movement can be based on how you really intuitively feel like moving your body and less about it being a tedious task or a chore.
Start today so your micro-gains stack up to do good for the only physical body you have. It gets interesting when you take joy in maintaining your body.
