Posture correction and its non-negotiable emphasis.

Posture is a word everyone knows of in terms of “sitting upright” or sitting up straight.

There is more to posture than it just helping the spine. Soine forms the central frame of the human body, it is the common link between the upper and lower body.

Spine health can be determined by the posture and core muscle strength. The strengthening of the upper and lower body muscles can also be impacted in correlation to a strong spine.

But how strong can a strong spine be ? It doesn’t only mean that it should be a strong enough spine to lift heavy weights, that can be one of the parameter. A strong spine can also mean a spine devoid of any acute or active pain at any of its level: cervical, thoracic or lower lumbar spine level.

What can contribute to a stronger spine:

-          Strength training twice a week.

-          Regular stretching of the leg muscles in sedentary job type population.

-          Having less visceral fat & healthily contributing the body to not go through obesity.

-          Regular spinal movements with light activities/sports/walking.

-          Being aware of pain areas in spine when they arise and treating them on time under the guidance of a physical therapist.
